Project Overview:
The Tipton CGPF facility, located approximately 50 km south of Dalby, Queensland, features six compressor packages powered by Waukesha L7044GSID Series 4 engines driving Ariel JGK-4 reciprocating compressors. As the mechanical maintenance contractor, Altrad undertook zero-hour workshop overhauls of four JGK-4 compressors. The project required precise coordination to ensure all overhauls aligned with simultaneous skid rectification work performed by a third-party contractor.
Scope:
- Dismantling, inspecting, and reporting on the condition of each compressor.
- Performing a complete zero-hour overhaul for all four compressors.
- Painting and preparing the compressors for transportation.
- Verifying alignment, start-up, and commissioning of the overhauled compressors upon return to the Tipton site.
Outcomes:
- Successfully overhauled and recommissioned all four compressors within the required timeframe.
- Local Expertise: With a workshop and overhaul facility located in Dalby, Altrad showcased its capability to deliver high-quality maintenance within tight schedules.
- Efficient Execution: The proximity of the workshop allowed seamless coordination with on-site activities, meeting the project’s critical deadlines.
- Maintained alignment with third-party rectification works, ensuring no project delays.
- Reinforced Altrad’s position as a trusted partner for precision maintenance in the energy sector.
